About
Stefan Ruthenfranz is a surreal artist based in Berlin.
Stefan is the grandson of the composer Robert Ruthenfranz. He was raised up in Witten, NRW, and was interested in music and in visual art from early childhood on.
The spectrum of his creative work includes electronic and acoustic music, self-published stories and other text, but his main focus over the last years was painting.
Stefans style is a blend of various influences, such as surrealism, psychedelic and abstract art, but also comics and cartoons. His approach to most of his works is more intuitive and spontaneous than planned, and the concepts and themes enfold themselves within the process.
